Op 5 juli 2023 verwierf het Wereldmuseum een bijzonder object voor de collectie: een compleet en officieel ingezegend vodou-altaar. Het altaar was een geschenk van de Nederlandse dichter, mediëviste en Manbo, Maria van Daalen, en was te zien in de tentoonstelling Helende Kracht (juli 2019 – mei 2023). In dit boek lees je meer over deze vodou-priesteres, Maria van Daalen, haar altaren en haar gevoel van inspiratie en verbondenheid met vodou.
On July 5th, 2023, the Wereldmuseum acquired an exceptional object for its collection: a complete and officially consecrated Vodou Altar. The Altar was a gift from the Dutch poet, medievalist and Manbo, Maria van Daalen, and was on display in the exhibition Healing Power (July 2019 – May 2023).
